Danza della Lotta

Danza della Lotta (dance of the fight) is an oil painting 61”x79” that navigates the artists battle with agoraphobia and journey of reentering the world after 15 years being housebound. It illustrates her struggle with identity and who she is beyond the radical isolation. Seeing herself change into this seemingly new creature as she grapples with the hermit self she’s come to know- a foreign shape to herself. The setting unsettled- neither indoor, nor out. The beast (anxiety) vs man (the artist) partake in the dance of the fight. Who will win?
